Can anyone tell me why the TV broadcasts sound reproduction from the Satellite box which is connected via analogue pin plugs to the VCR1 on the Denon sounds dull and lifeless with no sense of surround as opposed to when I hooked the same speakers up to my dolby digital TV and the room comes alive with sharp sounds and effects.

Is this due to the connections, cables or the Denon itself? PLEASE HELP!!

I run my video recorder and PS2 on analogue through my 3802, and have never had anything that sounded as bad as you are suggesting. Some programmes have more active surrounds than others, but I wouldn't describe it as lifeless. I only have satellite via rf so can't comment on sky performance though.

What settings are you using on the amp DPLII or NEO6? Have you tried switching between the two to see if it makes any difference?
