Hi

Here's a few pics of my home cinema (and games room, of course) in my loft conversion. The room was originally used for storage of junk. Wasn't happy with this so decided to convert it. I haven't looked back since ---- I use it extensively for gaming and the occasional movie. My 5 year old daughter and I love watching Japanese anime (not too harsh!) in this room and other kiddy movies. I just love having a dedicated room for gaming. No flash equipment, but I think it's just about right for this environment and a 1st attempt at home cinema. Just waitng for my mini-fridge.........

Also have Amiga 1200, Acorn electron, PS2, PSP and DSi, but didn't see the point in showing them here.

Would welcome your comments.....

Equipment:

Sony 40HX703
Sony HTSS360
Sony PS3 slim
levvy black glass LCD stand
2 x black glass & chrom DVD stands
1 x balck glass & chrom side table.

Very nice clean setup. Some classic games there too!

Out of interest do you have the name or manufacturer of the side table, looking for something similar for my new cinema build.

that looks nicely done, i'm looking to start my conversion this winter myself (except for the roofer doing the roof lights). Shame mine will just fit a single bed and a few other things.

Did you do any sound proofing for the floor up there? Do you know if velux do blackout blinds?

sorry, not very AV centric questions.

Thanks for the comments. Side table details:

Black Glass 2-Tier Side Shelf Coffee End Table, sold by Galaxy's on Amazon. £23.49 + delivery

It's of a reasonable quality for the price. Looks good, I think.

Thanks for your comments:smashin:

I wasn't responsible for the build, but I must say that the sound proofing is actually quite good. I live in a semi, and my neighbour does not use his loft. Therefore, I do not disturb the neighbours. The flooring does not contain any special sound proofing materials --- just standard insulation. As for the velux windows -- these are equiped with blackout blinds (see picture). They're very effective and block out near 100% of the light. I think these are essential in a room like this.

Best of luck with the build!

looks a nice place to relax in:thumbsup:

This is my first theatre system, so cannot comment on performance too much. Still, I'm very happy with it and, as you say, it's great for movies & games. Don't listen to that much music on it really.

nice tv, man
