I have a question about hows best to connect the following equipment together.

    sky box
DVD player (single rgb scart out) + one component.
    Denon Amp AVC11sr

I need to connect all this to a tv that is about five metres away from the stuff listed above.

Can I get a scart cables that goes from
1: The sky box into one of the component videos IN on the amp?
2: The dvd player into one of the other component videos IN on the amp?

And then get a Component video OUT cable that goes into a scart which is about five metres long and plug into my tv.

Is this the best way of doing it or is there another way? If this is the best way then where is the best place to get decent cables from?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

In many respects the best thing is to keep video signals out of your receiver altogether, but certainly for convenience, your solution will work, and will allow the receiver to perform all your video source/output switching.
www.hificables.co.uk have quite a range of cables which should suit your requirements.
