Well I ordered an E95 so while I'm waiting for delivery I might as well sort out how to get everything connected.

Currently using nasty black scrounged wires so I'm planning to upgrade my cables while I have everything out. Are branded cables generally cheaper on the web?

    Sony KV32-FD1E TV
    Pace original black thing SKY
    Panny E95 multiregion
    Sony DVP-F11 DVD multiregion

Is there a best way of connecting this lot together?

I've figured that SKY TV out ---> E95 ---> TV AV1 will get me an RGB picture but does this mean the E95 has to be on constantly to watch SKY?

I planned to watch DVDs using my trusty old player as I read recording TV and playing different region DVDs means fiddling with E95 settings. But would playing on the E95 give me a better picture?

No - it will pass through when off - but if on all the time it makes it easier to timeslip/live pause.

    Try it and see :)

QED cables are good for price/performance IMHO!
