Cable To Amp Question

Apologies if this sounds a bit dumb. I've got 413 strand cable going into the back of an Audiolab 8000s. As the cable is so thick and the binding posts on the back of the amp has quite a small space for the cable to fit it, the connection is somewhat messy. Is there some kind of connector I can fit to the cable to make the connection better, or is it just a case of getting less thick cable.

I've tried banana plugs, but they don't seem to fit. I've order some Belkin Blue Series PureAV Gold Speaker Pins; these seem to be thinner so hopefully they'll do the job.
