    Good Evening,

I was wondering if anyone could provide some assistance with regards to wiring up a 5.1 setup.

My setup will be as follows:

    Mission M73i fronts
    Mission M7C2 centre
    Mission M72i rears

All going into a spanking new Denon 3802.

My query is that I would ideally like to use QED Bronze for my fronts and centre and some QED Micro for the rears. Now being that the Denon amps tend to supply more power than other amps (not treading on any toes here I hope) will QED Micro be fine for rear duties....as it is much cheaper and would help me budget wise.

    Cheers 4 any help,

    EmissarY.

It will be absolutely fine. I use Silver Anniversary at the front but a much cheaper Ixos cable for the rears

Thankyou Ian J, at least I can now budget sensibly for my cabling, I was feeling quite queasy when I priced up 30m of QED bronze from HifiBitz as I didnt want to spend loads given my budget to midrange setup.

But just to clarify, QED micro wont overheat because of the current coming from the Denon to the rears no?

    Thanx again,

    EmissarY.

Definitely not....you'd need to be pumping serious power down the cable for that to happen...if you consider lighting wiring which carries up to 5 amps via those wires, and the guage of your cable or other speaker cables, then you'll have no problems.
Also, most systems produce power levels well below maximum level for 90%+ of the listening.
