do cables of vastly different prices make that much of a difference when it comes to picture quality ? , for example , does a scart cable that costs £35 produce a VASTLY better picture quality than a scart cable that comes with a cheap DVD player ?
Also , could someone please explain the difference between RGB and non-RGB scart cables .

    Many thanks

There are differences between all types of interconnect and although quality should increase in proportion to price that isn't always the case.

A scart cable with all pins connected will carry composite, s-video and RGB video signals as well as sound but some scarts - termed RGB scarts - will have some of the wiring missing as they just have sufficient wires to carry RGB picture signals only
