I have an issue whereby the the receiver will be placed approximately 7.5m from the DVD player. Will the "Digital Coaxial Cable" lose quality the longer it is,

    or

Would it be better to have the DVD player in the proposed position of the receiver and have a longer HDMI cable instead?

I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. :)

I'd go for a longer coaxial cable, and the fact it would be a lot cheaper than a long HDMI cable.

Yeah, thats a good point I suppose. However, I have had a re-think and I also want to make use of the Multi-channel sound (SACD/DVD-Audio) which means the receiver need to be in very close to each other.

Looks like it might be a longer HDMI cable. Typical. :)
