    Hi

My plan is run hc cables in 32 or 40mm standard waste pipes as cable ducts behind & throught a plasterboard stud wall but any ideas of how to finish the wall off where the cables come through?

    cheers

Gary, you can get blanking plates that will finish it off very nicely. If you do a quick search on blanking plates then there are quite a few threads with pictures etc.

I've done as inzaman suggests - used M&K blanking plates to match the sockets I've used. I also found that a pillar drill is almost essential to drill out the face plates neatly.

For the other cables that I have run to the projector (Component/S-Vid/HDMI etc) I've made a custom plate using MDF and errrr... plumbing fittings   :D

It actually looks realy quite good, I've used waste pipe reducers for where the cables exit and it looks like it was made for the job. Go to a decent DIY shed (I used B&Q) that carry a lot of plumbing and cable conduit etc and you'll get some ideas.

I got some speaker terminal plates from B&Q and they also sell blanking plates as well as pre drilled ones.
