Which would you prefer? I have the H/K hkts11 5.1 speaker system. I would use it mostly for watching movies, but I also listen lot of music. I already have the Arcam A85 and Amphion Creon2 loudspeakers, and I'm thinking of trading the A85 for one of those in the topic. The problem is that I cannot bring them home
    for a listening session...
The Marantz is more expensive than the Azur 540, but that wouldn't be a problem!

    Thank you for advance!

ps. Sorry for the bad English

Sr7500 by a few hundred miles mate ;) The SR7500 is a cracker of an amp, and against the CA540R, there is no comparison in my opinion, they are in totally different classes, and the price reflects this. For the money, the 540R isn't a bad amp at all, in fact, it has many rave reviews from the press, but, the SR7500 outpoints it in every area.

it brings a tear to my eye when my little cambridge audio is compared to the "big boys" of the audio video market! (a tear of happiness that is)

The SR7500 should be the best of the pair but it will undoubtedly be a drop in stereo performance compared to your A85. In my experience, the problem with hifi is that once you've heard better stuff then you just can't go back but it depends where your own priorities lie. :)

Thank you for sharing your opinions! I got an offer from a local hifi-store... They have the Denon avr 3805, and it costs 1369€. If I give the Arcam a85, I would have to pay 780€ for the Denon... I said I think about it!

    Good deal....?

The SR7500 is also better musically, and also, let us not forget the Marantz equivalent to the 3805 is the SR8500, not the SR7500 :)

thanks guys! I think i'm going for the Denon 3805, if the store can't get me Marantz 8500... But in Finland, lot of people have trade their Denon 3805 for Marantz 8500?. They say it's better in listening music and have..what's the word...it's got more "DEEP" in the sound? I hope you know what I mean...!

But the Denon and Marantz flagships are both almost the same price... So how can it be, that the other is so much better than the other? If they have almost the same price?
