Hi, as most CA 540R owners will know the manual leaves alot to be desired. As a newbie to all this (the 540R is my first AV Receiver) im struggling understanding a few of the settings. I have a CA DVD55 which is connected to my 540R via both a Coaxial Digital lead (DVD Coax IN) & a regular stereo (analogue) twin phono lead (CD/AUX IN).

The 'problem' that im struggling with is that the 540R Bass & Treble settings seem only to be alterable when the receiver is in STERO mode. This is fine for playing CD's etc. When I switch the receiver to any of the SURROUND modes i.e. MUSIC the controls arent accesible. This is the same when I listen to any CD's via the Digital Coax or Movies in DD or DTS modes. Is this 'normal' or have i missed something?

Im using Tannoy 5.1 FX speakers (with an extra one for 6.1). Movies just sound like they have a bit too much middle bass and ideally i'd like to be able to tweak this if possible.

Many thanks in advance - have only just joined the forums today
