A while ago I bought the C64 Classix CD from play.com.

Well last night I finally got round to giving it a go. And I'm glad I did! I spent a good bit of time playing Theatre Europe and it's just as I remember it. Ah the good old days of doing a Nuclear Strike on the 9th shock army which just happens to be sited in Berlin

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew of a better emulator than the one supplied. There are two main problems with the one I've got. Firstly the sound isn't quite right. (The "Give Peace a Chance" theme music is a quite distorted). But the main problem is the lack of proper joystick support. I have to use the number pad which is OK when I'm on my desktop, but it ain't gonna be much good on my laptop...

Can anyone recommend a decent emu which can play .T64 files with the above two problems sorted?

I have had the best luck with a product called Win-Vice, which also emulates the other Commodore computers (PET, Vic-20, etc.)

Wow. That ZZap web site is great. Looking at all those Gold Medals brings back memories. They've even scanned in the little drawings of the reviewers...excellent.

Theatre Europe...completely forgot that game. Blinding.
