got for christmas. should I put the 602 in the rear and buy 603 or 604 for the front sound or leave the 602 in the front and buy 601 for the rears my room size is about 16 x 12.

I say put the 602s in the rear, and either 603s or 604s in the front. I'd immediately jump at the 604s, but that's your decision on which ever you prefer for whatever reasons. You can't deny that it's good to have a large front speaker though...

I would say that the 604's would be overkill in your room, but the 603's would be good if you have the space. Also this would delay the need to get a subwoofer.
If space is tight then the 601/602's would be ideal, but you really would need to get a sub or you will miss most of the bass.

Either way I would suggest that you get a sub asap as without it you are still missing the LFE from DVD's

I have 2 604s in a 9 x 11 room, and am getting the asw675 to go along with them shortly. It's going to stay that way until I get a new place here soon....

I agree with Mark. Get the smaller 601's and buy a B&W sub.

Yep - ditto to that again. Save your money; get the 601s, a decent sub and the LCR600 instead of the LCR60 if funds permit.

THe LCR60 is big & heavy, but the LCR600 is massive!!! I would not suggest standing this directly on top of a TV.

You could always get the LCR60/600 for all 3 front speakers to get a fully matched front sound stage as they would make good standmount speakers for L/R duties. IIRC the LCR60's are £200 each, so less money for the 3 fronts than just a pair of 603's (£400 each I think) leaving a bit to put towards a good sub.
