Hi all, has anyone experienced a buzzing noise with this set? This is not the electronic tizzing noise that you can just about hear when you put your ear to the grill at the top but a very audible buzzing sound which I can hear from 3 metres away :(

I have fiddled with the settings and it seems to be related to the contrast setting. If contrast is reduced to under 97 the buzzing starts. Anything over this and it stops.

I had the previous v1.3 of this screen and I'm sure it never buzzed - so it looks like its another call to Empire to sort it out :(

No problems with mine, just the usual "noise" from as you sayt he top grill when you are a few inches away and in a quiet room.

This sound will have something to do with the backlight. When the contrast is set to 100% the backlights are on full chat, which means there no circuitry working to reduce its output.

I cannot hear mine at all from any more than a few inches!

Jimmy, that's what I thought. If some have the buzzing and some don't it would seem to be a fault? Really annoyed about it because I've waited ages to replace first a v1.3 from John Lewis and then had to wait 3 weeks for Empire to deliver as the first set they were going to send was speared by a forklift in the warehouse!

Sounds exactly the same as I get with my Tosh when I set the backlight below 75%. I'm assuming that the backlight level is controlled by modulation, which is causing the noise. Other people have commented that the noise is so low that it's not something that puts them off, but I've got my set in an alcove that acts as a nice amplification chamber.

    Hi,
I am experiencing a buzzing problem with my Panny Viera 32.
Although I only get the buzzing when I play a region 1 dvd.It stops when I unplug the dvd to tv scart though. Its a pain,as it spoils my enjoyment of my reg 1 dvds.
