buzz count Hitachi 32ld7200 only

Returned my 32ld7200 due to the buzz bugging me to much (and an extra hissing noise which developed) but need to decide whether to persevere with this model or cut my losses .

Please can people do as scientific a test as poss because whilst some people don't mind buzzing- if it's there it'll annoy me.

What kind of scientific test are you proposing exactly???

Different people have different ears, and from the sounds of things, different sets buzz to varying degrees. What exactly do you want us to test for?

I have no problem with my set, but then I don't have the best hearing in the world anyway! If your last set was hissing, then that was definitely a duff set. Wait until you get a replacement, then see if any noises appear.

And don't forget, other LCDs buzz too- it seems to be an inherent part of LCD technology, to some degree. The large number of posts regarding it can be put down in part to the fact that so many of us own this set. In terms of proportions, there's a poll floating around here that showed over 90% of respondants not suffering from buzz to an annoying degree.

Just to say whether the sound is there or not as buzzing does seem to bug me if its anything more than barely noticeable.

Sorry to be a pain I just want to give this set as much of a chance as possible.

But tbh i am not sure whether to go for the 42" Plasma 7200 (i kid you not) !
Keep tellling myself i will be happy with a 32" LCD after all its' to replace sony 32FX60u ...but am i going to be satisfied ...

Hang on where did you nearly purchase a 32LD7200???

I wouldn't expect it to still be there if you go back.... that's if they had any more than the one display model.

I don't think the stocks problem is apparent/relevant anymore.
I can tell you that Richer sounds in Birmingham have a computer !! and said computer on saturday displayed a shipment of 46 due to thier store or in stock at warehouse this week ! (wed is the delivery day )

It seems someone at Hitachi may have pulled finger out
There are plenty shipping this week for everyone

(mind you they said "all along" that stocks would arrive end sept).

- hear buzzing over normal viewing levels and it bothers me -

Yep i hear you, been on the verge of buying one of these for 2 months now , and in a strange way am glad the stocks have been poor, its' given me more time to research. Seems to good to be true at currys aswell , they did say they had it in stock .... Richer sounds are getting his week..well go figure.

Quite excited to "actually see one" nearly fell over I did.
