Buying Xbox 360 games in the USA

I'm off to the good ol' US of A next week, and thought I'd pick up a few cheap games whilst I was there. I can't pretend I fully understand the regio thing when it comes to the Xbox 360, so was hoping someone could give me some tips as to what games will work when I get them back to the UK etc. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

I have just returned from Vegas. I can confirm that the US version of Guitar Hero II works on UK consoles. Bought from Frys naturally and a complete cost about £40.

The variance in Xbox 360 games around the world is crazy. I was in Korea recently and even in retail stores the games were half the price they are over here. Oddly enough, Nintendo games were the same price as over here. Xbox 360 games were cheaper than DS games! Crazy.
