    Hi there

others have recommended video games plus.com as a retailer of us machines. I want to buy one too, but waiting a little while. They sell it for £268.00 plus approx £50 postage to UK.

Also movietyme.com used to sell the us version, but been checking over the last 2 or 3 days and it seems to have disappeared from their listing. Either they have stoped doing them, or they are awaiting stock???!!

Good luck and let me know how you get on.

Many thanks. A good price but you might get hit for custom charges :thumbsdow, unless shipped as a gift. Might be an idea to contact them and see how they do it.:)

I ordered my region A PS3 from Video Games Plus in February. It arrived 4 days after I ordered it, via a courier service. No issues at all with the package, everything worked a treat and best of all........no customs charge whatsoever

I know that these things can suddenly reappear but I think I'm safe for now. I whole heartedly recommend these guys for importing one.

Does the US player play UK PS3 games. How about the UK Blu-Ray discs?

Darklight, to be honest I only bought 1 game (Resistance which was quickly traded back ) but it was a UK game and it played no problem. I'll also be getting Singstar for the missus (honestly) and I've got no concerns that this won't play.

Again, as for UK BDs, it plays them all no problem, apart from region locked disks (Fox). It plays all my UK-bought Sony/Disney disks (Stealth, Ultraviolet, Talladega Nights, Starship Troopers, Hostel, Hellboy), even though some of them are labelled as Region B only. Go figure......

Even with all this confusion, I would still go for region A - look at the price of Fox disks in this country (£29 in HMV for Kingdon of Heaven) compared to US-sourced (£12 from Movietyme). Even region B internet prices are not much better (on average £23). My view is that the money saved on these disks outweighs the issues around which region B disk will play - especially when you've got a resource like this forum to help you out.

I agree with you on the cost of BR discs in the UK. The average seems to be about £18/£19. Play seems to be one of the highest at about £23....Think I'll go for the US PS3:clap:

Good choice, chief! Cheaper than a UK one, a better selection of cheaper disks and you don't even need a pesky transformer for it! Buy and Enjoy!

All PS3 games are region free, but as you probably know the bluray movies and dvd's are not
