Buying overseas

    Was thinking of buying a sony camcorder (DCR TRV460) on amazon uk the price is £359.99 on amazon.com it is $379 (£206) ex carriage, what problems will i run into buying abroad? Thanks.

    I suppose problems with warranty, although not sure what Sony's policies are on warranties on non UK bought items. Also you will have to be VAT and duty.

    Also looked at the amazon.com shipping policy and it says "We are currently able to ship books, CDs, DVDs, VHS videos, music cassettes, and vinyl records to European addresses.."

    Also any camcorder bought from an American site will be NTSC and not PAL as used in the UK. The 2 are not compatable so will cause a lot of problems, especially if you want to copy the footage onto a VCR as no standard UK VCR will record an NTSC signal.
