I have a friend who is about to travel to Florida, he want's to get a camcorder to record his trip and has asked me if he buys one there will he be able to play back on his UK TV and archive to a UK VCR.

I must admit that this has me stumped as I know nothing about camcorders, only a little about home cinema.
    :(

I believe the answer to be NO unless the camcorder purchased in the US is able to record in PAL format. USA is NTSC.

I believe that you can buy Pal camcorders in the USA., and that the charger/adapters are multi-voltage. The only disadvantage will be no warranty.
