I visit Japan quite regularly and knowing absolutely nothing about camcorders, I'm baffled as to what to do next. I want to spend about £700 on a DV camcorder. However, I've noticed that won't get me much in the UK. I quite regularly see equivalent models in Japan for £200-£300 less. The models I've seen all have displays and instructions in English.
What is the downside of buying abroad apart from not getting a UK warranty? Can I buy a warranty at a highstreet store like Jessops for a new model which I import. Thanks.
