Is the customs limit 18pound uk to import dvd before tax and when you buy would the post and packing be included in price. That is if dvd is 18 pounds p&p 1.20 will I get cought for duties.Because total is 19.20uk.

The rule is £18 for the product. Postage charges don't count towards the value.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this by the way. :D

Sometimes the postal charges do get counted in the total value.

Officially - the CIF Value of the package is what is assessed for duty.

CIF means Cost, Insurance and Freight. That means that "p&p" IS taxable.

P&P is taxable

but it shouldn't be counted towards the £18 limit.

ie. you can order something up to the value of £18 and then pay postage on top of that - the declared value should be £18. However, if you paid £18.01 and then £2 P&P - the total amount that is taxable is £20.01 not £18.01.
