Buying cheaper batterys for your camcorder

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Canon HF10 and am looking to get a second battery for it. I have looked around online and found a few alternatives regarding price. I'm now wondering has anyone used a cheaper non Canon battery?

I'm uncertain as to whether it will damage the cam using a non specific battery.

Also does anyone have any good links for Canon accessories

I'd be grateful for any info on the above

Have you done a search for "battery" or "batteries" on this thread? This question gets asked a lot.
