Hi after some advice on buying Blu Ray from the US

Off to the US shortly and looking to buy some Blu Ray discs for my UK PS3 to play

is there anything else I need to bare in mind other than ensuring that the discs I buy are not region locked

    Hey,

How come some Blu-Ray movies are region free and others aren't?

For a new movie (especially one that's got staggered releases worldwide) it's often seen as more profitable to lock the movie to regions so you can't import it.

Also, different studios have different opinions about which is best - eg. I don't think any Warner titles are region locked, and I don't think any Fox titles are unlocked.
