Buying a sub £250 LCD TV / Monitor

Hi, my brothers 32" CRT has just broken, and I'm just looking for a quick cheap fix, until upgrading at a later time.

He mainly used his TV for gaming, so I've been looking at monitors as they offer good screen response times, and are normally quite vibrant, the sizes I can afford are really between 20" and 24" - there are some very good choices, ive been looking on ebuyer and the prices have varied between £100 - £220 for known brands with good specs (Samsung, Acer, HP), so I have an idea about what I might buy.

My question is though - will he be able to plug his freeview into the monitor as well? Or is it only digital inputs on monitors eg VGA, DVI or does it depend on the monitor, I think the input I need is RGB to plug in the freeview.

Otherwise we're guna have to be visiting Argos for a dirty 26" HDTV for £230 from Acoustic Solutions (the specs look pretty poor)
