Buying A Pj In The U.s

    Sorri but this may seem stupid , i am goin to New york later this
    year and was thinking of buy a pj there (hopefully the screenplay 5700)
    is there anything that needs to b modified to make them work here ?
    has anyone done this ? , will i have to pay duty ?
    any info please ?

    Depends on the projector - some are dual voltage, some aren't. I bought my current projector in the USA before Xmas and made a 50% saving on the UK RRP after duty and VAT. Just make sure you buy from a reputable dealer - I believe AVS are based in New York.

    thanks for your reply , im thinking of buying the infocus
    5700 and have been told it should work here , did u have to pay
    the duty ? as ive heard of surely travelling to usa it shud b duty free , ive also heard of people getting pj box posted to there home address and then jus basicalli carryng the pj on as
    hand luggage ?
    which pj did u buy ?

    it will only be duty free if you sneak it through customs..... you SHOULD be paying vat and import duty on it
