I've been tempted recently by a couple of iPhones for sale on here, but they're locked to O2.

Now, that isn't necessarily a problem but I've never bought used before, so need some advice.

I'm with O2 myself, on what I believe is a sim only contract (its about £9 a month) as the contract on my ageing IPhone 4 ran out ages ago... but I stayed with O2.

    So, short version:
If I buy a phone locked to O2 will I have any problems?

I contaced O2 about this today, and the guy said there would be a problem, and that the seller would need to unlock, even though were both on o2.

That sounds wrong to me, there's a chance the guy at o2 didn't know what he was talking about... has anyone successfully used a locked phone on their own account?

He hasn't a clue, to be fair most of
    The O2 cs don't.

Your O2 sim will work fine in it
only problem might be sim size but you can get a sim swap done in any O2 shop in minutes.
