If you were going to buy a Plasma, or thinking about it before Xmas. Which one would you go for?

I've been told that there isn't actually any differences between the two, other than that the 7 series can accept a HDMI board, where as the 6 can't. This might of been because the person who told me had just bought a 6 series, so i'm not sure what to think.

Would the sensible thing be to get a 6 series now? Or wait a little while for the 7 series?

Money is a big thing aswell, so I want to be getting the most for my money. But when i've been told the 7 series doesn't have any advantages over the 6, it's thrown a spanner in the works and i'm not sure what to do.

Thanks for any opinions on the matter.

    Scott

You'd be lucky to get a 6 series at xmas, i would say they'd all be sold. Some people are saying the 7 (due out tomorrow in some places, already instore at one Bentalls store) will be at series 6 prices after xmas anyway.

Well maybe not at Xmas then. But is it worth getting one now while the 6 series is cheap? Or waiting untill after Xmas to get the 7 series for the same price?

Couldn't wait any longer. Placed my order for the PW7 from AV Sales today. Got it on 9 months intrest free credit so I'll still be paying for it way after the prices have dropped but it will be worth it. Now lets see how quickly they can turn around the interest free forms. Have Friday week off work for Study Leave so hoping for delivery then - not going to get a lot of studying done

Any reason why you chose the 7 series over the 6? :)

    Congrats on your purchase though.

I thought it was worth the £250 premium for the newer model, always nice to have things first even if you pay a slight premium. If I'd have bought the PW6 it would always have been in the back of my mind - should I have spent the extra on the newer model - and who knows they may be even better than the PW6 - I can't imagine they will be worse. Hopefully they will be even more reliable as all they are is a slightly upgraded PW6 so any problems noted on the PW6 should be fixed on the PW7. Well worth £250 to get rid of that nagging doubt. Just my opinion.
