I'm off to the USA in a few weeks.

I'm going to be buying a Digital camera soon anway and wondered about the various for's/againsts for buying the camera in the states.

A model that is top of my list is the Panasonic DMC-FZ5. Best price in the uk for around £280.

Best price (possibly in the states is around £200)

for the £80(ish) saving. Is it worth it....

Do Panasonic models come with a worldwide warranty?

Would there be any difference in spec/extras in buying from the states/uk?

Anything else to be aware of?
    TIA :smashin:

I've bought 2 digital cameras while on holiday in Florida... last year a Canon A80 (which I just sold on eBay a couple of nights ago) and this year the Panasonic DMC-FZ20...........saved around £50-£60 quid each time compared to the UK prices.
In both cases I didn't worry too much about the warranty as I have faith (and maybe just been lucky) in major Camera manufacturers products reliability.
Make sure it has a dual-voltage charger and I would buy from a camera dealer shop than an "Electronics" type outlet who will tell you anything (downright lies in fact) so they can get a sale.
You will also find memory at keen prices.
    Good luck.
