BushDVD2023 : can it be made multi region?

    A friend is considering buying the Bush DVD2023 from argos...the question is: can it be made multi region via a hack? any info would be greatly appreciated.

    John Lewis sell this too: the salesman said it is multi-region out of the box, but as I didn't but it I'm not 100% sure what that means...

    To convert this player to Multi-Region
    1. Press the Open button on your remote control
    2. Using your remote control, press the buttons 2, 8, 1 and 2, in order, one at a time
    3. Press the Close button on your remote control
    To playback VCD and SVCD discs on this player
    1. Insert the VCD/SVCD disc into the drive tray and close it
    2. Using your remote control, press the Goto button repeatedly until the menu says VCD at the top of the screen
