So does this actually work on Live now?? Reports from other forums say people are having trouble logging in to Live and are getting kicked out of games (just like Burnout3) ??

I got an import copy from the States, but I've not played on Live as my Xbox is modded.

Great game. Looks a lot better than Burnout 3 and the speed keeps on going up as you don't have to worry about half the traffic in front of you as you can ram it.

Whats the point of that then? Kind of takes the challenge out of it doesnt it if you can just plough through everything in a straight line :suicide:

The roads have way more traffic that BO3. Roads are twice as big as you have as much traffic coming the other way. Also, you can only ram cars, not semis or buses. It actually adds more to the game as you can ram cars into people

Not very keen to be honest, got it yesterday. A little too arcady for my liking, but then I don't think they were trying to create a sim race game. :D

i reckon the burnout series is like a 'beat em up' but with cars.....they're fun but not deep and you get bored fairly quickly.

That sounds quite good if you can ram other cars into yor competitors. Not too sure about being able to ram every car off the road in front of you, does this reduce the challange at all?

You can still wipeout on side impacts and head-ons....It does make it fun when you can knock other cars into your competitors...

It is a lot like burnout 3, which I enjoyed. Mindless fun...

You can also have two players together now, good fun when you've just come back from the pub with your mates...:)

Yeah, well done EA for publishing a game!

The ramming cars aspect makes your boost bar go up. But so does driving on the opposite side of the road (easier to drive on the opposite side though as the boost bar goes up a bit faster).

It's good, but infuriates me because of the walls making me crash, and the cars that just suddenly appear. It requires you not to blink, which is annoying.

Honestly, no. Rival cars are just as agressive. Plus the crash mode is a lot more difficult. Which is nice as the one in Burnout 3 was real easy.

I'm overdosing on Burnout on the PSP and Xbox at the moment. :)

The first time I played it I though the checking cars going in you direction made it too easy but the design of the tracks are now that walls jut out in your path and the arrows marking the track direction cannot be used to steer round as they are set 10 feet back from the corner so you end up in a wall if you use them.

Plus it is faster than Takedown so head ons happen even faster.

I just love the Burnout franchise!

Having played a good 30% of the game, I can give a much better opinion.

Graphics are much better than Burnout 3, much darker and realistic looking. There's also a lot more cars on the screen.

Levels are good, but don't seem to be as challenging as Burnout 3. I miss Silver Lake. The whole multiple levels and shortcuts means you'll never go through a level the same way twice.

Eliminators are much better. I used to hate them as they were dragged out over 5 laps. Now they last 5 groups of 30 seconds, with last place being eliminated after each group of 30.

Crash mode is a lot more difficult. You can choose what car you want for the most part, though some force a particular car on you. You can do additional damage to a downed car, plus you're told how many cars are in the level.

All in all, a great game. Get it now (or on Friday when you can).

i've been playing this for a couple of days now off and on (about 20% in)

ITS MAKING MY EYES BLEED!!!! :D

it so much better than Takedown - its a fantastic Arcade experiance. the first thing to say is that its not PGR or Forza. it a pick up and play title give it 30 mins and put it down again. while it may not have the options of serious racers it has arcade quality in spades. the sense of speed it aesome and the handling of the cars is a dream (power sliding round a bend with four other racers at 170 mph is quite an experiance :smashin: ) it has it problems but it has kept me coming back for more time after time. Burnout does exactly what it says on the tin and burns you out!!

all in all a fantastic game - wish i had more time to write this morning. its not te greatest racer of all time and some members/purists wont like it - but it depends why you play? do what to spend 100 hours of your life becoming Damon Hill and passing your advanced video game driving test? or do you want to a laugh with your mates at 200 mph.

each to his/her own - if yuo like arcade racing then buy it.

    8.5/10

I loved #3 for pure arcade thrills, don't think I';ll be buying #4 after giving it a test drive today as it doesn't seem to offer much more over takedown. Plus, i'm still only about 50% through number 3!

    For the doubters:

Revenge is the best in the series.

Crashbraker races are great. Now you have Takedown Rivals (those opponents who take you down) and you get great slow mo to show youy the b*stard :) I got a Double Crashbraker Takedown Rival Combo Thing the other night and it felt good. I laughed.

It's rather nice ramming into the arse end of traffic and sending them flying into your rivals for great takedowns. Also, the Traffic Attack races are just plain fun. Good stuff.

Crash Mode has removed the multipliers, which is good, though the coins are still there. Crashes are a lot harder now. There's so much choice in how you crash. And you don't just burn off or collect the boost icon, you have to get the accelerator in the correct area of the gauge for a good start (much like a traditional golf game). Get it wrong and you stall/blow your car up (along with derogatory laughter).

The graphics are beatuiful but it can be quite hard to see what the fudge is going on. It's a very dark and gritty game and you really need eyes twice the size than a human has. Plus it's just so manic.

All this was done on my m8s Xbox as mine has a power supply problem.

I'll just wait for my Xbox 360 and the 'enhanced' 360 version of Revenge.

Oh, and has anyone got a link to "real" Revenge360 screenies?

Yes it's already been officially announced although at the moment there is no firm date for it. We will probably see it next year sometime.
