Burnout Paradise is out on the pc at the end of this week. From the screen shots floating about it looks very nice.

It's getting some good reviews too. Looking forward to it as the devs have spent effort on this and is not just another PC port.

There's also a thread on this here! ;)

I am not really a racing fan but I do like the Burnout franchise, I think we are in for a treat with this one. :)

That thread was too old, this one is all shiny and new. :D

    Lol. Fair enough! :p

Anyone know why this is called 'Ultimate Box'? Is the PC port offering anything more over the console versions?

It's called ultimate box as it coincides with the release of the ultimate box on ps3 and 360

These versions have had stuff like better multiplayer added, along with night/day transitions and also MOTORCYCLES! And some other cool stuff i cant remember now. Woop woop :smashin:

The pc version comes with all of these as standard (coz obviously they never released the original cut down version on pc)

It's called the Ultimate Box as it contains all the freebie DLC that has appeared since the game first appeared on 360 & PS3. Bikes, Day/Night cycle, extra cars & more online game modes - "Road Rage" is a revellation.

I may sound mad, but I've already played BP on both consoles and I'm still considering it again on PC.

Yes - it's free roam, sometime's it feels like GTA in cars! It's one of the most addictive games I ever played, you can just jump on it for 10 minutes and still make progress, either by doing an event or hunting down some of the collectables like the 400 smash gates (defining shortcuts) or a superjump or billboard (The game has advertising which was used the Barack Obama in the US).

Utterly brilliant game - can't recommend it enough, on the consoles it runs as smooth as silk and goes so fast you'll pee.

You know it's going to be good as Guns N Roses "Paradise City" will begin when you start up.

I think Criterion have said yes - I'm sure they said in a Podcast that the demo was going to contain the whole map but with a very limited choice of vehicles so you could give it a good once over - the console demo's only had a limited area and 2 cars IIRC.

    Definate yes : http://www.criteriongames.com/packs/pc.php

super excited about this one - only downside is that i am stuck with only a laptop at the moment because we are potentially moving house so pc has gone to parents house for a while to make room for viewers to the house.

Will see if it runs on the laptop and hook it to plasma me thinks (min specs are well cover by my laptop, T7700 2.4ghz c2d, 2gb ram and X2400).

Spent hours on the original burnout and subsequent games on the xbox, fingers crossed for this!!!!:thumbsup:

So you will get the whole game for a limited time only as a demo? This is a good idea as most people that download games normally only do it as the demo is so short or there is no demo whatsoever. Although looking at them screens it looks a little arcady for my liking but gotta be worth a free download in anybodys book.

Might have to get this, I need a new driving game, well actually I just need a new game to throw at the new rig.

All I've been playing is GTA4, I've not even done the usual go back and test a beasty game like Crysis on the new setup yet

Why did you spend all that money on a gaming rig only to buy this game for the ps3?

Yes, the demo is on Criterions site, clicky in a previous post. :)

I think one of the updates says they've toned down the starter cars to make it more accessible for beginners, just wait until to get yourself an Uberschall :D

Me and those Somalis have got something in common :D

And I agree with the controller comment. Menu navigation is just plain stupid with a keyboard. Might have to invest in a 360 controller.

FYI the demo is unique. It's the full game.

Yeah I think it does. Don't have a 360 controller to try it out. Might have to drop into town and pick one up :smashin:

Permission to post my screenshots? :D

It worth mentioning that you could download the full game and just install the trial. You would NOT be breaking the law (i think?)

Anyway, all I enjoy doing at the moment is doing super jumps and crashing in random **** at really high speeds. I've done 1 race, and that was by accident :D I've already "driven" 100+ miles :rotfl:

For those of you with the game, find the train tracks and stay on them. Epic stuff happens! :smashin:

An amazing game on PC, looks and plays much better than on the 360 and using a wired 360 controller works really well. Not a single drop in FPS on my setup with everything up as high as it goes.

Looks sweet plays sweet and is an easy pick up n play game that can pass by a good few mins while waiting for something.

    GET IT NOW !

There are a few people that said it works very well with the wheel. I have never tried it (PS3) as like you it's a bit to mad for it, stick to the joypad.
