burn to dvd from pc

    does anyone know if it is poss to record something on the V+ box abnd then dload it to my pc so i can burn to dvd as i dont have a dvd recorder

    any help would be appreciated

    It is possible, I've done it before.

    First of all you will need your V+box connected to your tv via scart. If you have it connected via HDMI you will need to switch this off in the menu and select the scart/standard def option.

    Next you will need some sort of capture card in your pc, with either an antennae input or standard av inputs. I connect mine with a scart adapter from the V+ rgb scart to the av inputs on the capture card. Once connected you can select the input on the capture software and this will give you whatever happens to be playing on your V+ box, which could be any of the channels or anything that you've recorded onto the box. You then simply hit the capture button and away you go.

    Most capture cards will record in mpeg2, although some will do it in divx, either way you can edit away and burn to dvd.
