Bulb problems on Pansonic AE700?

Hi,
having just done a deal via the classifieds for an AE700, I have been searching the net for more info on the machine and have discovered that a lot of users on Projector Central have had bulbs that have blown at ridiculously low hours of use, 300 - 1000 hours seems common.

Any UK users experiencing early blown bulbs?

Wow, I thought I was doing well with 700 hours after a year. You must have it on 12 hours a day. I can feel a new thread coming on, show me the size of your running total

'Calibos' has 10,000 on his AE300 and is now on his 2nd bulb . It must be said though that all bulbs don't last the 5000 hours stated on low power mode, but some happy owners reset their PJs after the 5000 hours on their 1st bulb and carry on using it. It would be nice to hear how many hours anyone has got out of their 1st bulb.

now that's more like it, nearly 4000 hours.

A bit less stress here now that I see other users with long life on their bulbs.

Must have been a bad batch at Panasonic that gave a lot of users problems as listed in the user reviews at Projector Central.

Ive only got 330 hours on my AE300 which I bought from new in 2003...
