Here's a 1080p PJ Optoma HD800x from Optoma direct, factory refurb - 300hrs and comes with 1 yr warranty (I bought the HD81 off these guys and Richard is great to deal with, you can even give him ring) £562 inc postage.

OPTOMA HD800X HIGH DEF 1080p (S0325) DLP PROJECTOR on eBay (end time 18-Dec-10 13:29:54 GMT)

amp here £120:

or here £75:

Brand new 5.0 speakers at 2nd hand prices...£299

Quantum Electronics (UK) Limited Monitor Audio Bronze BR1 AV 5.0 - Quantum Electronics (UK) Limited

Subwoofer £100 (this is mine lol!):

Total £1036 if you go for the cheaper amp.

You can alwys pick up a used 720p PJ for £300 or less if you don't want to spend the cash. Also, DIY screen can be made for £30 or less. Look on the home cinema DIY thread for more info.

Hopefully this gives you something to think about!
