Bug using Bose Smart Soundbar 900 with LG OLED C1 TV via HDMI?

I have an LG OLED C1 TV connected to a Bose Smart Soundbar 900 that loses audio after skipping 30 seconds on my TiVo DVR only when connected via eARC HDMI. If I switch to optical it doesn't happen. The only way to recover audio with HDMI is to reboot the Soundbar. Rebooting the TV has no effect. Sure seems like a bug. I tried doing a firmware update and it never completed. It kept showing the moving LED lights for over 12 hours. Yet another bug?

Is it only the Tivo that you get the issue with? In that case I would suspect it is an issue with that rather than the Bose unit?
