..is available from 29/10 and is pre-orderable from Play247 for 70 quid.

Let's hope they've sorted out the scratchy box!

Get buffy boxsets at dvdpopcorn. They're much cheaper there AND you get a completely cool packet of microwave popcorn absolutely free! Come on, it's worth it just for the popcorn value. But honestly, the Buffy's are cheaper there. Got my season 1 for 」35 and I think the other seasons go for 」65. But have a look. By the way, what's wrong with the season 2 boxset?

    Joint,

Unless you haven't bought the Season 2 set in the UK, then the problem will have escaped you.

In the UK editions, the discs were housed in sturdy, non-flexible cardboard sleeves. This meant that a) the DVD's were hard to remove from the sleeves, with their removal often resulting in majorly scratched discs, or b) the discs were scratched when the manufacturers inserted the discs into the sleeves, and upon purchase, you received a set of 6 scratched and marked discs!

Essentially, Fox ballsed this one up, big time. However, the Australian R4 editions, come in proper Amaray cases! And it costs less than the UK set does!

Hehe, lucky I haven't bought it coz I should have done by now- just that it was unavailable. Well I sit tightly and look forward to the re-release.

    Joint,

You could be sitting tightly for a very long time, as there isn't going to be a re-release of the Season 2 boxed set!

Essentially, you'll either have to buy the UK edition and pray that you're lucky, or import the R4 editions instead.

    Pooch,

So is Britain not going to see season 2 boxset for ever now? Coz right now it's vastly unavailable, and if a re-release isn't scheduled, then there'll be a gap between season 1 and season 3... And that will pretty much pi.ss collectors like me off, coz I was intending to own the set all in R2. What clever packageing are they conspiring for the Season 3 boxset I wonder... <img src="mad.gif" border="0">

    Joint,

"Buffy: Season 2" should still be available from most reasonable high-street or online e-tailers, however, you may need to get it ordered. However, if it isn't, then you're going to have to start hunting high and low to get one. And next time you see a "box set" or "Limited Edition" title, grab it there and then, otherwise they soon disappear! ;-)

Secondly, all of these special "box sets" are usually limited editions, although the defintion of what constitutes "limited" is debateable. (Some DVD companies say 5000, others say 25,000!)

As for what packaging Seaosn 3 will arrive in, I have no idea. Fox UK may want to make each set different, or they may stick to the same idea as the Season 2 sets. Alternatively, you could just buy the Region 4 editions, which will probably be all uniform in design (i.e. Amaray cases, with an outer cardboard sleeve), or wait until R1 starts to release them.

Sorry, I can't be of more use.
