Amazon are doing the same ones for £29.99 - preorder for May 24, 2004

DVD.co.uk are doing them the same price as Amazon.

lol seems like it and after looking around I found them the cheapest at dvd.co.uk, Fox seem to be offering alot of Promotional sets lately. First it was Simpsons/Family Guy/Futurama and now its Buffy and on Amazon they have Angel and X Files going half price available in June.

    Thanks guys.

Yup - Fox seem to be having a pretty major boxset sale at the moment... I think though that the X-Files boxsets in June will be in cheaper packaging than the current versions.

ohh i'm so tempted by these, but i'm not sure whether to get them as I have seasons 1-5 of Buffy and 1-3 of Angel on region 1 dvd (i bought them on region 1 because of the large price difference), and the boxes are different, so if i were to get the region 2 versions of the last 2 series it'd make my collection look 'wrong'.

maybe i should just stop caring about how they look :-\

I've ordered all 6 series from Amazon but if they are not in the same packaging as they are now i'll cancel them again.

I know the Angel sets are going to be in plastic cases but does anybody know for sure (with link to info) about the buffy sets?

Amazon states that the Angel sets are new plastic boxes but there is no such info for Buffy.

This link is going to cost me 169 squid. damn this forum...lol!

    Hi mate:cool: small virtual world:)

If these sets are not in the watcher style box then i'll just cancel my order from Amazon. It's good getting 62% sure but Fox always said the reason the sets were so expensive (80 quid) was because of the packaging being expensive to produce.

So if they put the sets out with amaray cases then you're not really saving all that much really because the sets are cheap to for Fox to put out there.

    Time will tell though.

Thinking of starting to collect both these series.

I seem to remember something from a while back stating that some of the R2 "Buffy" episodes were cut. Is this true? If so, which ones?

Yeah, Indiana Jones is right, it was only one episode of the third season - 8 seconds out of 154 hours aint too bad!

    Can live with that!

Someone mentioned differences in R1 and R2 packaging - can anyone elaborate?

Region 1 - take off an outer slipcase, then the inner folds out revealing six discs (that's 6 discs across the way)

Region 2 - book style, discs are slipped in to pockets (look like pages of a book) - early seasons had problems with discs scratching when putting discs in and taking them out

Region 2 are like Hardback Books (see your local Woolies for details! :D )

Region 1 are your standard 20thCFox gatefold digipacks (same as Alien Quadrilogy or the X-Files and Simpsons boxsets)

has anyone contacted any of the retailers to see if the buffy boxsets are the current book styled ones or come in the generic dvd cases. As I already have buffy 1-5 and angel 1+2, I'd like to complete my collection with these sets, even if it means paying a little extra.Although, the sets I currently own only cost ~£35/40 each when I bought them so the proposed prices for seasons 1-6 are not unbelievable.
