Hi,

I’m after a soundbar, I’ve never had one before so wanting one for a new house. I understand there’s better systems about but realistically I’m only interested in a sound bar, ideally for around £100 but have looked at a couple for £150.

wondering if anyone can recommend any as I don’t really know what to look for!

im mainly looking at the JBL 2.0 compact soundbar or the Sony HT-SF150

Or for slightly more maybe the SONY HT-SF200 2.1 All-in-One Sound Bar

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hello OakesJ103,

Firstly, it's probably best I let you know what I have, it's a Yamaha YSP-2200 which was at its time of release their flagship soundbar at £800, it's a decent soundbar.

Although I've said it's a decent soundbar, one thing I can't do is immersive from above and behind, they're claiming it's a 7.1 system, It can though do immersive from the front.

I've learnt a lesson and like you my next soundbar will be a cheaper one that concentrates on being good with immersion from the front and doesn't promise things it can't deliver.

I've seen a review on youtube and would look for something better.

Try this for a little more, it has a 1 year warranty and should easily outperform the JBL, it has a built in subwoofer
