Going to move the Arcam kit out of the lounge before the little one gets old enough to feed it jammy toast! Bought the Arcam DVD player as a one box solution for CD/DVD playback. Now looking at a budget player to do the same (e.g. Tosh SD360, Oppo etc).

Any recommendations on CD playback? Any particular ones I should avoid?

    Cheers

Hmm, since you have been used to Arcam I think you will be pretty disappointed. It seems audio quality is sacrificed first when it comes to budget players; understandbly, since they are primarily DVD players. You will get poor cd playback, but you may find one model you can put up with more than others. Oppo 981 is getting some good feedback. Try and do some searches to see if there's any feedback on audio quality.
