He he this isn't much of a home cinema but I'd like to think of it that way...

It's a 12 x 12 foot room with 2 windows (with shades), two full closets, 1 door, 1 bed, and my surround set up.

I won't post pictures because I am posting a link to my "Home cinema" web site.

    Here it is!

    http://home.comcast.net/~corvette.z06/homecinema/

Some day I will have a house with a dedicated room for a home cinema like all you cool dudes! (and cool equipment to go in the room!)

    Post your comments!

I think it's always cool when someone is excited about their setup and proud of it, whether it's a starting setup with tiny TV and basic surround sound to the full blown dedicated HC rooms.

I say good on you for showing enthusiasm and I wish you well in you journey toward home cinema dudedom.. hehe though you're already a HC Dude for sharing your room with us.

I added a leave me feedback button to fill out a form to contact me.

    Added a poll.

    Added a counter.

And might have changed a few other things small enough to not be mentioned.

    Have another look everyone!

You might make some more room if you moved the car forward a bit. It's blocking the door opening properly. :)

Great little set-up. Projector next? :D

Haha that's awesome. I was hoping to get another poster someday to fill up the other wall that the door is in--different poster of course. I love that poster. $30 US dollars (somewhere around 15 British pounds?) for a 10'4" by 4' bill board poster of your favorite car! Can't beat that!

    Thanks dude!

Whoops forgot to mention a few things:

    Next - new receiver.
Someday - a projector :D when I have a good enough job and have my own room designated as a home cinema instead of using one as my own bedroom.

I like your setup. Nice screen, good use of attik (spelling?) space. I would like to see how your seating will be--single chair or like a love seat? or mini couch? or theatre seating? hehe :rotfl:

    Thanks again!

Added something that you guys might like to the web site:

A "360 View" of my home cinema room! I took 15 pictures of my room from one location piviting in my chair and then with a little TLC (well RLC--rough, loving care) I put them all into one picture to make a 360 degree view.

Anybody out there know how to turn that into an animation like some people have done? I tried using Macromedia Flash 6 to do it earlier today but it wouldn't do it the way I hoped to and got me really frusterated. :lease: Take a look and tell me what I could do! (hope not to buy any software). I have Flash 6, Paint Shop Pro 7, and Animation Shop 3. Ideas?

Thanks all for viewing and helping support this!

I haven't received any suggestions yet! Only positive comments! I welcome suggestions!

I was using some Recaro car seats initialy (which were surprisingly comfortable!), but now have some proper leather recliners with foot stools. If I move my next place will have a double garage for converting to home cinema room. :)

I think you're allready suffering from upgradeitus. I don't think there's a cure but some people can live with it without it effecting their lives. :D

Well as long as you know there is "always better" so don't try to get the best. It is good to have the best you can afford while not breaking the bank. The receiver is the bottleneck in my system and all I want is a receiver that will match the rest of my equipment. I then will (yes I will) be satisfied until I get through college and get myself a good job as an engineer and be able to afford something good! What is crazy though is I'm going to keep my current setup and new receiver until they go kerpoop! I will keep it as a second system probably to have hooked up to my computer where ever I will have my computer that day.

All is good, all is planned, all is happy  .

    Thanks for the comments, dude!

Normally I order it out of a catalog but you can order it online also. I don't know if they ship to the UK or not... Here's the link to either of the two billboard posters they have:

    http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=1.231

EDIT* Whoops I realized they raised the price on it since I last looked: $44.99 and I'm pretty sure they ship to the UK after looking at their website.

    Hope that helps!

Hey! Thanks for the response and for the question! The receiver is nice, has nice features--just I would like one that is higher up in level and sounds a little cleaner.

    To answer your question:

    I got 3 of these:
http://www.monstercable.com/mp3/productPageMP3.asp?pin=2300&LastPage=Monster iPod - For the Home

or you can get cheaper cables as long as you get three "1/8" stereo mini plug to RCAs". I have an Audigy 2 ZS sound card that is outputting 5.1 analog surround sound but it seems just about all sound cards and motherboards with onboard sound have built in surround sound now. I have the 3 Monster Cables that I have the link above connecting between the sound card and the 5.1 or (6 channel) analog surround sound input in the receiver. I then press the 6 channel input button which is just to the right of the subwoofer button on the actual receiver (not on the remote) and there you go! And if you get a Audigy 2 ZS sound card or better with this setup, you can buy DVD Audio disks and play them with the Creative DVD Audio player that comes packaged in the software! (as opposed to playing it as a DVD in any DVD player).

Hope that helps you out. Post a message if you would like me to clarify anything or need me to answer any of your questions.

    Web site updated!

Added 2 pictures on the pictures page
Fixed a dead link (well more like a dead movie!)
    Added meta tags
Submitted the URL to Altavista.com and Google.com
And added the W3C validation for it (which is like THX, a standard but also a joke)
And of course keep my eye on that counter I have on it!

Thanks for viewing people! Any more comments/suggestions?

    Web site update AGAIN!

Added link to the index page (first page)... "Join the dark side of electronics..."

Maybe you should click it if you are curious about what I mean.

Hehe it's different but nonetheless, it's how I think.

    Enjoy!

BUMP! (as in up to the top!) As in anymore comments?

I built a AV rack/stand for my receiver, DVD player, and for anything else down the road... I started a new thread just to focus on that but I'll put a link for that when I make the thread in here so the two threads are connected together.

Thanks, man. It was kind of simple but the really frustrating part was trying to make a flash movie of it so you don't have to scroll manually but the picture was soooooo big that it was off of the workspace that Macromedia Flash gave me and thus when it came time to show the part of the picture that had been off the workspace, it was a black/blank screen! That was frustrating! But I decided that scrolling has it's own advantages over the flash (you can control what parts to see!).

    Thanks again!
