hi, my girlfriends dad wants a budget dvd player...

it must be able to play copied dvds, mp3 etc...whats the best one..?

I would say the Toshiba SD340E as his budget is around 70 quid...

any others that I should check..?

it will just be plugged into a bog standard tv - and using the speakers from that for it's sound

It sounds to me like even the Tosk 240 would be good enough. You will pick one up for about £40!
