I need to get a budget (around £50-60) DVD Player for a friend.

I work near a Richer Sounds and they have the following players around this price -

    Toshiba SD240
    Cyberhome CHDVD402
    Teac DV3300

He will need it to play CD-Rs, VCDs, SVCDs, DVD-Rs and be multi- region (which they all are)..

Which of these is the better buy and why?

    Thanks
    Chez

Have you had a look at the pacific DVD-1002 player from ASDA? My friend bought one for his dad the other day. Very easy to make multi region via remote hack and it seems to play everything inc svcd mp3 etc. We actually compared it to his older £300+ pioneer dvd player on his 28" philips widescreen and could'nt tell any difference through RGB. In fact it actually does a lot more than his older pioneer. Only cost £35, absolute bargain if ever I saw one.
