    Hi Di Hi

My missus is soon to give birth so I want to buy a budget camcorder. I have read loads of reviews and have an idea of what im looking to buy.

I just thought I would post here and ask for some recommended camcorders. I did the same with my Plasma and generally Panasonics were the product to go for.

My budget is a maximum of £250 and I need to get the film from the camcorder to my PC to create my own movies.

Is there a standout budget camcorder under £250 that is considered best buy.

    Thanks in advance

In that price range stick with a MiniDV (tape) model. I don't think there is a clear winner. JVC 760/770 have been recommended. Canon's budget models (MD101 or MD160) are very good, though there are reports of motor noise on some models. Also Panasonic GS60 is decent.

    Just a quick note.

I ended up buying the JVC Everio GZ-MG132EK.

Its a Hard Disk Recorder and I got it for £269 on the Curry's website. Just above my budget but I liked the idea of a Hard Disk.

So far so good. Got some nice software for editing and creating DVDs too.

You might be interested in the various discounts and cash-back offers available for that model on the Curry's web site, then.

hmm I didnt notice any. I thought I was getting it at a pretty good price anyway.

I ordered it online and picked it up from the store. It was £299 in the store.
