My mother is looking for a Christmas present for my little brother. Asda are selling a cheap Durabrand 26" widescreen CRT for £154. Both me and her work at Asda anyway, so we get a 10% discount.
Obviously the Asda cheapo stuff aren't that hot, their entire Pacific/Durabrand/Dual range in fact, but given the budget we're looking at here, it suits the bill fine. We're not talking about a kid who would be as picky as you or I about such things anyway.
My questions though are...
1) Does it have 60Hz input? Preferably NTSC as well, but I suppose plain PAL60 would be fine... it becomes a null issue with RGB Scart anyway doesn't it?
2) At least one of the Scart sockets support RGB?
3) I can see him wanting to hook his PC up to the thing to watch his DivX's etc. Simple enough, S-Video or Composite adaptor into the Scart socket I assume...
But does such a setup support widescreen resolutions?
Thanks!
