I am thinking of upgrading my sound system currently attached to my PC from stereo to surround. I will be using 100 watt mission speakers all round and a 120 watt active yamaha subwoofer. What would you recommend getting in terms of an amp/reciever for this. I just want to get something cheap if it will do the job such as:

    this

Would a pioneer like this be suiable for the job as i only need 5.1 and the sound card will be doing all the decoding. I will probably be using analogue rather than digital connections as I believe this is the only way to get games in 5.1?

Its not the only way of getting surround in games. You can feed the reciever with a digital (optical or digital) feed from the sound card and the reciever can use :dd: pro pogic or :dts: Neo:6 to change the stereo signal to 5.1.
