Does anyone have a definitive answer as to whether or not the back to the future trilogy on sale in shops now (Region 2) is the corrected (V3 presumably) edition. I've held of buying this for ages now and a brief search on these forums left me a bit confused. Some replies seemed to indicate that the V3 release would be out in Oct 2003. If this is the case is there a way to tell from the packaging.

The v3 versions of R2 is very hard to find..
The R1 films were properly fixed in v2.
The only online shop I know to have the R1 v2's is http://www.playusa.com
Some R1 v2 boxes have a green sticker on them wich says 'remastered', but then again; some don't..
The only way to be sure is to open the box and take a look at the discs..
Disc 2 and 3 should be labeled v2 on the edge.
There was never a problem with disc 1..

In the first release, movie 2 and 3 were misframed (both R1 and R2).
This is fixed in the v2's, but the R2 v2's has a problem with scenes beeing to dark.

Forgot to mention; This only affects the widescreen versions.
Faulty discs can be returned to Universal in exchange for the corrected ones.

    BTTF Framing Fiasco

This page has information about the "Framing Fiasco" and contact details at the bottom of the page for replacements in most countries.

Well, after waiting 5 months (!) - I have eventually received "corrected versions" for my Region 2 BTTF II & III.

On the discs, it shows R1 (BTTF II) and R2 (BTTF III)....does anyone know whether this means the last film has the darkness/contrast issue rectified?

    Thanks.
