BTTF (R2) Replacements - Again

    Sorry to start a new thread about this, but there are so many going on. I sent my reciept for my discs off at the beginning of October. Does anyone have any idea how long its taking for the replacements to arrive?

    Hi John,

    Well if you only sent your disc(s) off at the beginning of this month, you should realistically give Universal/Paramount at elast 28 working days to get a replacement copy back to you. If you haven't got anything back within 6 weeks, then you can start to make enquiries as to the delay, with them.

    i was thinking about buying bttf from play or dvd but will i get a "good disk" or the old bad one ??

    More than likely, the old "bad" disc. You'll almost definitely then have to send off for a replacement. If you need to know how, and what to do, just do a Forum search for "BTTF Replacements" or "Back To The Future", both of which should get you what you need.

    If your asking about the replacement for part III version 3, then from what I was told by someone in Customer Service at Universal about 3 weeks ago, you should receive them by the middle of November, as at the time I rang enquiring about them, they had still not received the corrected versions themselves.

    regarding those BTTF replacement discs.. I have the R1 version but how would I go about doing this if I live in Iceland??

    I recieved the Back to the Future DVD Set (R2) last christmas and didnt even know about the replacements until today, can anyone tell me the info I need to get the replacements.

    Having seen a friends replacement versions, I have decided not to bother sending for my own set. The 'errors' don't really affect the film for me. Obviously, if you care that much about the problem it may be worth it.

    I have received my Part 3, Version 3 disc today, I havn't watched it yet so don't know if they have fixed the "Dull Picture" problem.........

    did you have to contact them again to get version 3,

    or if you already had replacement for the ratio error do they automatically send u them

    I did call Universal UK about the replacement for BTTF3, and they told me that anyone who is on their list from the original replacements will automatically get the new replacement.

    Got my BTTFv3 this morning as well. Not bothered to try it yet - may have alook at the w/end.

    What's eveyone done or going to do with their v1's and v2's - Bin them (assuming all is OK with the v3)?

    I received my BTTF3 V3 this morning as well so i now own BTTF1 x1 BTTF2 x2 & BTTF3 x3, there is a pattern there somewhere. Havent watched mine yet either so dont know if it is fixed. I didnt have to contact universal a second time, the BTTF3 v3 just arrived in the post. I will just give my other versions away to other family members etc if they want them, if not i will just bin them.

    Its a disgrace that this is still going on and every single DVD sold anywhere in the world should have been recalled, Universal pictures is in the process of being sold off and i think theyre running the company down for a reason.

    Foxymulder it is a disgrace, but if you had a business and there was an error in one of your products and only a few people complained would you recall all of trhe product and spend hundreds of thousands or even millions recalling and replacing or would you just satisfy the few hundred that have requested reprints.

    looks like they have it right 3rd time ! Although only watched first 10 mins.

    My replacement discs arrived this morning.

    Now then, whats all this about a third version of BTTF 3 ??:eek:

    How do I tell what version I've got:confused:

    Pretty simple mate as up until the layer change the picture is very dark, then it will go back to normal.

    As i posted above, i got my disc 3 replacement a few days ago. Today the postwoman delivered me another disc 2 and 3 replacement !

    I sent off a letter asking for replacements on the 7th just under a week ago and I recieve BTTF 2 and 3 yesterday, talk about quick service lol

    Anyone else notice how the colours on the replacements are better than the originals, shame they have not been printed the same, originals have better quality but less colour.

    I mailed my online receipt to Universal UK months ago (didn't send the discs back as I had the Aussie R4 versions). To be honest, I'd forgotten about it.
    Received a package yesterday with replacement 2&3 discs enclosed. Does this mean I should have the corrected (latest version) #3?
    At the time I mailed (July?) them I think people were just starting to notice the fault with the original #3s
    Is there not a code on the disc centre that would confirm which versions I have?

    What email address did you send your receipts to?

    I posted a letter about three months ago and have had no reply at all. i also phoned up the universal number to be answered by a bloke who didn't seem to care a toss. All he told me was that if they have my details by post then I would receive replacements.

    I didn't e-mail them, I printed the receipt and sent it to Universal UK. I may have got the address from this forum.
    Try a search as there was a massive thread about this a while back.

    If you havent recieved anything within a week I would send again because like I said, I posted out a letter asking for replacements on a friday and recieved the discs the following wednesday, shouldnt take months.
