    So, here we go..

To have CL football on BT Sport they want £5 a month, if you would like that in HD, then add another £4 a month to that.

You can still have the "lite" pack, which looks like Prem League games for free (if you have BT Broadband), but the £4 HD charge still applies.

I wonder if SKY will be reducing their subscription in light of the fact they no longer show us CL footie ? :rotfl::laugh::D:laugh::rotfl:

What's the total monthly cost if you don't have broadband with them?

I see the BT EURO HD is up and running albeit nothing but promotional stuff . I currently pay £16.50 if they think I am going to pay more, for what I use to get as part of my SKY subscription , and for relatively free ITV4 for Europa league . Then I can not see it happening , we are paying more and more for the same product ,different providers but the same content .

By now the HD sub should be done away with now , 9 years on and 4K HDR at some point in the near future , HD has to become a standard format not treated as a luxury . As I say cost of a season ticket and tv something has to give.

Unfortunately Clyde, Sky/BT/whoever try and trick the general public into that HD content is only for the privileged, do they not look on the shop shelves and see Blu-Ray players for £30 quid and films for under a fiver that play in full HD, whereas they fob us off with 1080i at most !!!!

Sky sports prices went up by a £1 to £25.50 a month as of June. If you add BT Sport to your Sky subscription your looking at an extra £12 I think.
To get the Sky Sports in HD its £10.25 and BT is £4
So in total your looking at roughly £51.75 just for the Sports. If you then add on whatever basic Sky package you have its a lot of money to pay per month.
Checked BT website just now for prices for BT Sport on Sky without BT Broadband and it says coming soon so I'm guessing that'll be going up as well.
And didn't at one point people say competition is a good thing for consumers as it would mean better prices ???

Yes, we'll end up paying more for coverage that's about the standard of ITV's, which was free!

Anyone know what the cost is if your already a BT Sport subscriber via Virgin Media?

I've been really pleased with BT Sport for the past 12months, great for MMA, Basketball, German football and of course a good handful of PL games. Picture quality has always been great in HD too. I'll be a little bit peeved if I have to pay extra for BT Europe on top of the £15 I already spend on BT Sport as an extra.

The new price for BT SPORT IS 1p shy of £20 , no surprise that they have increased the price , but the problem is SKY will not be reducing there price by £4 due to no CL .

So what we have is a price increase , for content that was before covered by other subscription's , so we are gaining nothing but being charged for that privilege. And at present I am on long term sick leave with my back (dry your eyes now ) so I will not be renewing my season ticket this season. As others have said , so much for competition when it ends up costing more , id rather have a Sky monopoly , it cost less.

It's a £8 increase for non-BT customers next season isn't it? It was £12 last season, £20 season?

That's what I'm on too. Can't quibble at having to pay £36 for a season of European football.

I see Virginmedia are still in negotiations about bringing BT Sport Europe. I'll wait until they announce their pricing before I decide which way to go... The Sky option just seems way expensive.

many people dont realize that it works out more expensive when you have multiple different subscriptions in order to watch the stuff you like.

it is cheaper if sky or bt just show all the football games be in PL,LA liga etc instead of having to subscribe to both

Probably worth mentioning that BT have sent out emails today notifying existing BT Sport customers they'll automatically start charging you £5 a month if you do nothing

There's an option to downgrade to 'BT Sport Lite' if you don't want it.

    For anyone that hasn't got the email;

This is going to catch a lot of people out and is really quite underhand IMO :nono: If it wasn't for someone on Twitter noticing it, I wouldn't have given it much attention as it went to the promotions tab in Gmail.

So just a friendly heads up :)

So BT Sport is going to cost you £19.99 and a further £4 if you want it in HD.
Sky Sports is £25.50. HD is a further £10.25
So your looking at paying just under £60 a month just for the Sports plus whatever base Sky pack you have.
What a great time to be a football fan

That's why ain't it better for sky to show it all so you only pay 30 vs 55?

Is it not £19.99 for the sports pack in HD? If it's £4 on top of that then that is scandalous. I pay £16.99 for BT in HD now so it would be going up by £7 a month? Or nearly £80 a year just for some CL games? Screw that

Plus if you have multiroom, they expect you to pay another £5 to add it to the 2nd box

Forget that then. No way I'm paying that much each month. I can find other ways to watch the games I really want to see

I reckon I'll switch to Virgin, dependent on how much they manage to get the deal down to. Already have their top tier broadband, so won't be a huge step beyond that.

As long as people keep paying, it will keep happening. There is a price ceiling, but it seems we've not reached it yet for the general public.

It's all relative I guess. I've met people who go to City home and away and it makes my eyes water to think what they must pay every season.

I just called BT and they offered me the full range of channels and HD for 17.50 a month which is a pound increase. So at least they are offering deals of a sort. Shame the girl I spoke to was a Liverpool fan. Lol

Yeah. They've also given me a discount for 3 months. I haven't taken them up on it. Said I'd think about it
