How accurate is the BT availability checker for FTTC speeds?
I've been given an estimate of a maximum speed of 13.7 Meg if I have a clean line and 10.5 Meg if the line's impacted.
Our next-door neighbours have been given an estimate of a maximum speed of 41 Meg if they have a clean line and 35.2 Meg if their line's impacted.
What might be the reason for the big speed difference between us? Is it something to do with houses being 'banded' together for fibre speed estimates?
I can't tell you what speed our neighbours were able to get on ADSL2, as they didn't have the Internet.
Thanks.
