So no more pics from me for while, just completely dislocated my ankle and on top of that snapped the base of my fibula at the same place. OP tomorrow and a few pins a bit like the bionic man !!! Not felt pain like it in my 45 years. Foot was laying on the ground with my leg straight.

Sat here with temp cast and good painkillers but at least my foot is pointing in the right direction now.

    thoroughly ****** off:mad:

Ouch gpa, that's not good! :( Good luck for the operation - hope it all goes ok. Take it easy and give it time to heal, but here's hoping for a good clean and quick mend. Have yet to break a bone and can imagine it is agonising!

No dedication! Could have waited out the visit to the hospital till the very last few days of the month and bagged the winning entry in this month's comp:D.

Good luck with the op, and get well soon.

Come on dammit, are you a photographer or not. I would expect some close-up macro shots of the pins, and some wide aperture shots of the scarring blurring out gently into the background.

A pic with your foot pointing the wrong way would have been good but possibly a tad yukky.

Seriously though, sounds nasty and hope you recover soon.

I've been in the wars myself and know how frustrating it gets :(
Internal or external pins, I've had the external ones for a while and always good to scare people with ;)

Speedy recovery and all that :)

thanks for the kind words everyone. Really only just sinking in as too the extent of damage and recovery time. Plates, screws. pins and shot tendons. Good news is foot now points in the right direction and this morphine is great... I just press a little button. Again thanks and next time i post it will be on my home comp and not from cloud cookoo land using my n95

    Just a quick update.

    Op went well,

Had my visit to hospital today and had stitches out, foot feels great and is nicely on mend. way ahead of where I ought to be and not have an air cast cast, i can take it off at night and when i am exercising feeling much happier now. My plan is to be walking un aided within 8 weeks, they told me it would be between 4-6 months so must keep up with the work I am doing. off all pain killers now and looking forward to getting out and taking some pics.

cheers for all the comments guys:smashin:

That's great - glad to hear you're doing so well. :smashin:

Just don't get over-confident and try to do too much too soon! I always fall foul of doing that when I'm ill.
